Capabilities

Most chemical companies license their process, buy off-the-shelf catalysts and hire someone else to build the plant. Solugen does all of it in house: we engineer and produce our own enzymes, design our own metal catalysts, and design and build our own Forges. That is how a new molecule goes from the bench to production in months, not years.

01

Enzyme engineering

AI-guided design, strain engineering and high-throughput screening of thousands of variants.

02

Enzyme production

Our enzymes are made in our own Bioflex® fermentation plant, so supply never waits on a vendor.

03

Metal catalyst design

Proprietary catalysts designed, characterized and tuned in house.

04

Chemical synthesis

New pathways developed and proven feasible before they are scaled.

05

Process development

Bench chemistry translated into robust, high-yield engineering designs.

06

Pilot plant

Kinetics and limitations proven at scale before a Forge is built.

07

Plant design and construction

We design and build our own Forges, from first sketch to commissioning.

08

AI and machine learning

Models that accelerate enzyme evolution, catalyst design and plant operations.

09

Analytical chemistry and QC

UPLC, GC, ICP, TOF-MS and NMR in house, for new methods and release testing alike.

10

Product development

New products and formulations built with customers, around their problem.
